Should Sex and Violence on TV / Movies be restricted?

For many years I felt that the sex and violence on television and in movies has been getting out of hand over the years.   Unfortunately, we can monitor children but what about commercials, infomercials, on the Internet and the community.   No one is immune to sex and violence on television or in movies.   It stares you in the face!

There is extensive viewing of TV shows by children that may cause aggression and / or vulgar language.   Then the children start imitating the shows!  Children are not dumb!   They can read between the lines.    Now ask yourself is that all we need to worry about?   What about violence and sex is in the home or community affecting children (physical, mental, sexual abuse).

Television is being blamed for children becoming violent in later life yet it starts at a young life.   Think about the parents who both work, single parents or parents who need a break....TV is the best babysitter (quiet time for mommy & daddy or a necessity).

I really do not know how to tackle this subject without getting parents, society, industry and the government involved.   The industry comes up with quick fixes like rating and V-chips to solve the problem yet the problem is still out there and getting worst!
