Most men believe that they should be a good provider in supporting their family financially. Most men believe in protecting their loved ones against threats.
Most men want to be a good role model for their children. Isn't it funny when women would like to do the same thing and can do the same thing. Bottom line man & woman must work together in creating a well balance family equally. Doesn't matter if man wants to cook or the woman wants to cut the grass. Being supportive in all aspect of gender roles is the answer!

After God created man, he rested. But after God created woman, neither God nor man rested.

Gender Role Blog #1
God created man and woman in his own image therefore from the beginning of time the gender roles are equal. Yet Adam was the weaker of the two (smile) and Eve took control and said let's eat this apple (even if God said not to touch that tree). Now the gender roles became unequal and the battle begins.
Gender role humor!
God created Adam first. His first model. Then God created Eve second...a later model and definitely looks better and lasts longer.

What prevention techniques and/or penalties shoud be applied to child molestation and child abuse?
What are the statistics of child molestation and abuse? I really do not know yet when you turn on the TV, read the newspaper, talk to family and friends there are way too many little girls and boys being victims of this crime. I know we have the power to put a stop to these abusers if we all pull together and protect our children.
So the question is what prevention techniques is to teach our children how to identify child molestation before they become victims. Sounds good yet there are children who haven't walked or talked yet that are being abused...how do you protect them? Some or maybe most of the abusers are family members or friends not strangers. We need to talk to our children, supervise our children and ensure our community is create a plan for any one to one contact with adults (even churches where children should be safe).

Should controversial speakers (on whatever subject) be allowed on college campuses?
I feel that controversy or the clash of opposing views, should not only be be allowed on college campuses, but be encouraged by the educators as well as the student body. This welcome to opposition will give an evident confidence in the quality of education. To fear controversy or its ramifications is only to fear what is often the absolute necessity of change! So if a student or educator wants to invite a speaker that may be viewed as controversial, let's not make judgement but hear what the presenter has to share as long as we invite them. I do believe in free speech yet if a controversial presenter was not invited, then this would be off limits until approved by the students / educator.
Should juvenile offenders be tried and punished as adults?
Let's begin through examination of this question; If a juvenile is grown enough to commit an adult crime, he / she should be grown enough to encounter the consequences of his / her adult-like actions. Yet knowing how I feel about children, let's step back for a moment and find out why our youths are in such turmoil. I know every year someone publishes comprehensive studies about this issue and what is being done. Think about the cases that do not get reported!
We need to reach out to youth before trouble starts and how do we accomplish this? We do have programs in place that are very successful yet it doesn't reach all youth due to funding. I believe if there are programs for the youth they are already caught up in crime and a program to prevent youth from getting into crime. This would reduce the number of juvenile offenders. So as we are working with the youth, we must find ways to promote and build on the youth's strengths and interests instead of focusing on the youth problems. Get the families involved (maybe counseling), community and funding. We all say we will help our youth yet are we talking the talk or walking the walk? When was the last time you made a difference in a child's life?

Should English be the USA official Language?
Declaring English the official language is essential and beneficial for the U.S. government and its citizens. Official English unites Americans, who speak more than 322 languages (2000, U.S. Census), by providing a common means of communication; it encourages immigrants to learn English in order to use government services and participate in the democratic process; and it defines a much-needed common sense language policy per http://us-english.org/view/8. I really did not know this was such a big debate until I started reading more about English as the official language in US. There are some 31 states have made English the official language for their states. I just believe that English is important to our society (a common bond) yet having other people speaking more than 322 languages is astounding. What riches these languages / cultures can bring to this country. People are quickly learning English while others are quickly learning other languages which will bring us closer in communicating with others. Now Minnesota is looking at declaring English as Minnesota's official language.
Should surrogate motherhood be either banned or regulated by law?
I think it is wonderful that a woman would be a surrogate to another woman/man. These women are rare and it takes an unselfish woman to carry a child for someone else. Becoming a surrogate mother is not for everyone since it does take a special person yet they need to be rewarded. Therefore it should be regulated by law and not be banned. I know so many families that would like to go through a surrogate program yet they do not believe all programs are safe. If this is regulated by law, then every party involved would be protected including the child. I have not read much about surrogate yet the movies out there shares with the audience the pro's and con's using a surrogate. The surrogate is giving up her life for another child that will be with another woman/man and she will need to not bound with that child yet having the child with you for 9 months, how can you not bound. On the other hand, the surrogate family are so anxious for this child with open arms, would they do anything that would jeopardize the surrogacy? All agencies should be regulated by law to ensure that all parties are being supportive in this life changing experience.
